Rossendale Scouts Centenary Events
There are some events being organised which we are usual events for Rossendale Scout Council eg St Georges Day Parade and the Annual General Meeting, however because of the Centenary celebration they will have a Centenary theme. The other events that are being arranged are new events or events that have not happened for a long time.
In addition to special events a Centenary badge is being produced and these will be distributed at the beginning of February. A district directory is being updated showing the history of Scouting over the past 25 years – the last time that this was done.

FEBRUARY - 1st February Centenary Thanksgiving Event Longholme Methodist Church, 7:00.
APRIL – 22nd April St George’s Day Parade, St Marys Church, Rawtenstall, 2:15 Bank Street Car Park
MAY - 10th May Annual General Meeting
20th May Fun Run Fun Day
JUNE 29th June – 1 July District Camp, Bowley Scout Camp
JULY - 15th July, District Hike. Walks from Rawtenstall, Edenfield and Stacksteads all meeting at Waugh’s Well.
SEPTEMBER – 21st September District Gala Dinner, Burnley Football Club, Speaker: Steve Peck, Programme & Development Director
OCTOBER – 4th October Music for Youth, Royal Court Theatre, Bacup
NOVEMBER – Bonfire and Fireworks
The events will hopefully allow Rossendale Scouts to raise the profile of Scouting in Rossendale as well as providing the opportunity for those involved in Scouting to celebrate our anniversary. Further information will be provided about the events.
