Akela Trophy Competition

Cubs from 6 of the Cub packs in Rossendale competed in the annual Akela Trophy competition on 20th March. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind for those competing.

Bases were on skills learned by Cubs. These included first aid, fire lighting, tracking, map and compass and pioneering. Points were given to teams for how well they did at the bases, for skill and teamwork. The top three packs in the competition were:

  • 1st: 38th Rossendale (Cloughfold)
  • 2nd: 45th Rossendale (Crawshawbooth)
  • 3rd: 42nd Rossendale (Bacup)

Both 38th Rossendale and 45th Rossendale will represent Rossendale at the County Skills Competition on 15th May, to be held at Bowley Scout Camp in Great Harwood.
