St George's Parade 2010

St Georges Day ParadeThis year's St George's Day Parade was lead by the 5th Rossendale. The parade, lead by the band, special dignitaries and our District Commissioner (John Davey) walked from the top of Bank Street to Longholme Methodist Church where a service took place. The service was wonderful and the church was filled which had not happened in a long time. Our District Commissioner was very grateful as many had to stand as there were no seats left!! Thank you to everyone who attended including John Goffe (County Chairman) who was our speaker on the day.

During the service, several Beaver Scouts were awarded with their Chief Scout Bronze awards. Some Cub Scouts were also awarded with their Chief Scout Silver Award.

Leaders from the district were awarded with their wood badges signaling the end of their leader training and the start of an adventure! Congratulations to all who received awards.

The eight Jamboree members from Rossendale also gave a presentation on what the Jamboree was all about. You can see their page here.
