Headquarters produces a selection of essential reading for Beaver Scouts and their leaders. A list of currently available publications is available on Scoutbase, and orders can be made through the County Shop at Bowley, or from the Info Centre (info.centre@scout.org.uk, 0845 300 1818).

The philosophy underpinning the programme is that every Cub Scout should participate in a Balanced Programme over a period of time.

In Scouting, the word programme has a wide interpretation. Programme is not just about the activities that Scouts can take part in (almost anything from abseiling to zorbing).

The Cub Scout uniform is predominantly green in colour, and comprises of a number of key garments:
